Club History
Collegians has a long and strong history within the Western Australian Amateur Football League, with our first premiership coming in 1952 and our latest in 2021, bringing our total to 34 premierships. That success has been built on and off the field by the contributions of our players, members and supporters.
Originally Old Scotch Football Club, we were formed in 1948 by the then City Coroner Pat Rodriguez and a core group of passionate Old Boys keen to play football in the navy blue and white
Around 1980 Old Scotch merged with Nedlands Secondary Teachers College to form Collegians Amateur Football Club. Over the last 40 years CAFC has enjoyed success on the field competing in the A and B Grades of the Western Australian Amateur Football League, whilst maintaining a fantastic social environment and culture welcoming to all.
With three senior teams, two colts teams and recently introduced womens team it is also amongst the largest amateur clubs in WA. However, the club prides itself on having not lost the comradery that comes with being a close-knit group. We have strength in numbers and boast enviable depth throughout all grades, resulting in the frequency of finals appearances and premierships in recent seasons.
The future for the club is very exciting with a strong social environment and a vibrant atmosphere around the club. Importantly, we are a club that is steeped in tradition and backed by an extensive and fiercely loyal Old Boys network. There has always been enormous pride in the guernsey and every player, old and new, loves playing for a club with such a rich history.
